You may be aware that I\u2019ve been going to investigator meetings and finding them kind of out-of-date.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve got to get away from what\u2019s easy for the sponsor, and instead move toward what is effective for the investigators and their associates.<\/p>\n

What is easy for the sponsor is to have the usual cast of characters give PowerPoint presentations\u2014all day, if need be.<\/p>\n

What is effective for investigators and their associates is engagement with the information <\/em>being presented. <\/em><\/p>\n

When adults engage with new information, they assimilate it more easily into their already crowded store house of information.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

Engagement with the information includes, but is not limited to:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Spot quizzes<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Small group problem solving<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Case studies<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Competitive games for small groups or teams<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Live enactments with faux-patients and product<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Small group role plays in which investigators and associates play themselves, the patient, and individuals from the sponsor company who will be interacting with them during the course of the study.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hands-on experience with data systems<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Social time with sponsor personnel<\/p>\n

Not only would investigators and their associates retain more of the information.\u00a0 They would enjoy the experience, and that enjoyment would attach to their perception of the sponsoring organization.<\/p>\n

A win-win, right?<\/p>\n
